Calorplast Heat Exchangers

GF’s Calorplast heat exchangers are perfectly suited for heating or cooling in highly corrosive applications. All heat exchangers are custom designed and configured to meet the specific service, application, or geometry requirements. Calorplast heat exchangers have been around for over 20 years and continue to serve customers with a proven record of reliability and performance. The industries served include steel processing, pickling, electroplating, anodizing, electropolishing, etching, automotive, autophoretic, wire processing, chemical, medical devices, military, aviation, material processing, acid dilutions, acid recovery, UPW applications, electronics, aquaculture, heat recovery systems, DI water systems, and more.

The suitability of a particular material of construction to handle a specific solution is being verified in accordance with the GF Chemical Resistance Guide and other industry data as part of the design process. The proposed selections are recommendations only, based on the data available.

The design features of Calorplast Heat Exchangers include:

  • All-welded thermoplastic construction
  • All wetted parts are plastic
  • Superior corrosion resistance (materials of construction include PVDF, PP, PE, and PFA)
  • No stray currents in plating applications
  • Low fouling characteristics
  • Custom configurations
  • Durable construction
  • Reliable performance

The Calorplast heat exchanger product line includes:

HeatEx trio

The exchangers are designed for saturated steam and hot water for heating, and for water/glycol or chilled water for cooling. Other media can be considered. The PVDF heat exchangers can be used in heating applications using saturated steam up to 35 psig @ 281°F. Only PVDF can be used in steam service. Superheated steam may not be used as a heating medium. The mechanical operating limits of each material used in construction of the pressure containing parts are defined in Table 1.

Cancellation Clause
GF’s Calorplast heat exchangers are custom products. Each exchanger is designed for a specific customer and is therefore unique to a specific application. Because of this, once we have started fabrication we can no longer re-use the fabricated portion of the heat exchanger. In the event that your purchase order is cancelled the Customer must assume financial responsibility for the heat exchangers proportional to the percent complete at the time of cancellation.
