TUSTIN, Calif., March 31, 2003 – George Fischer, Inc. has introduced the Metal Backed Sanitary Adapter featuring improved performance for mechanical connections in life science piping applications.
The new adapter offers a stronger connection solution by reinforcing the plastic adapter with a stainless steel ring. This durable reinforcement prevents leakage and wear and tear on the connection during frequent clamp opening and closing. It also guards against plastic deformation from extreme heat. Combined, these benefits increase product service life and minimize repair.
Available in SYGEF® PVDF (polyvinylidene fluoride) and PP-n (polypropylene natural) in a complete range of sizes up to two inches in diameter, all adapters are reinforced with the stainless steel backing ring for maximum strength and can be connected to either plastic or stainless steel piping.
Compatible with 3A clamps, the unit requires no special tooling or fixtures for installation, offering added convenience and simplicity for the installer.
"The new Metal Backed Sanitary Adapter was designed to provide an improved solution for mechanical joint connections specifically for the life sciences markets," said Dan Stromberg, George Fischer Product Manager. The purity and chemical resistance properties of both PVDF and PP-n, stronger metal backed connection supporting 150 psi rated applications, and the compatibility with 3A clamps, make the adapter an excellent choice for high-purity applications."
